Requirements for the final paper:
- 4-5 pages in length (6-8 paragraphs).
- Introduction includes a detailed thesis statement that gives the topic and point of view.
- Ideas are organized into clear paragraphs.
- The paragraphs follow in a logical order that is given in the outline.
- Each paragraph has a topic sentence and adequate support.
- Transition words or sentences are used to move from one idea to the next.
- An understanding of how to quote, paraphrase, and summarize source information is demonstrated, including use of citations.
- Information from three sources, including at least one book and one article.
- Information from source material is balanced with the writer's point of view.
- Correct MLA format.
- A 'Works Cited' page.
- A conclusion that restates the topic and thesis statement without presenting new ideas.
