Assignment #1: One-page blog proposal

Decide on a subject for your blog.  It should be something that you are very interested in and that you want to spend a lot of time thinking about in different ways.

Consider the work you will do this semester; you will be writing 10-20 entries in your blog that are related to your subject.  Your entries will be all your own ideas but you can quote and summarize from outside newspaper or magazine articles, movies, TV shows, song lyrics, TED talks, etc. You may also use photographs (1-2 per entry).  It is best to use your own images!

Remember, you should pick something that is specific, but not so specific that it will be hard to write about.  For example, "Travel" as a subject is too broad.  It would be difficult to write everything about travel in one semester!  But "Traveling Around New York City" could be a good subject that would give you a lot to write about from your own personal experiences.   

Due Date: Tuesday 9/3
What: One-page proposal, typed and printed
Include:

• The subject of your blog and why you are interested in that subject
• 2-3 possible names for your blog
• 2-3 possible topics for future entries
• Explain what experiences and ideas you can imagine writing about
• List a few magazines, websites, blogs, books, movies, TV shows, songs, or other outside sources that are related to your subject
• Design or layout ideas.  Thoughts about different sections your might include.

Optional: Log into Blogger and check to see if the names you would like to use for your blog are available.  If you don't know how to do this, we will do it together in the next class.
